When you try to make short sighted goals and make more money, it usually kills the game play. When you look at financial data only, that's what usually kills the games. You have whales that pay for everything and the publisher makes more money. So companys income is more important and that's what measures if the game is a success or not? With that logic, current situation should be perfect! Less servers, so there's less expenses. I still can't understand how the companys income is considered better than having more players to play with, more active community, more streams and youtube videos to watch. I'm just trying to understand Doris, why he thinks that old Ncsoft times were better when there were less players. I'm not sure if you address this to me or not but i will respond since it followe mine. However in case you want to play an Oldschool MMO, experience the old crafting system, beat Dark Poeta once again or Raid the Abyss one last time, this game is for you. If you are looking for a MMORPG where you can spend your life in, Aion Classic is not for you. In 2008 Aion needed to be a State of the Art MMORPG, with over 100.000 active players and over a Million people in Europe at least trying the game, to last this long. Otherwise there might be a some interesting times ahead.īut maybe we should make one thing clear:Īion Classic will not be a project that will last for the next decade. If Gameforge screws up, this nostalcia trip will end earlier. So Classic fans just want to experience Aion in its oldschool version once again just for the fun of it. I dont know if you have this in the back of your mind. The Classic content runs out after like 3 years anyways. I don't think anybody expects to play Classic for the next 6-7 years. But if that happens and Aion Classic will become unplayable like the retail version these people will just leave Aion Classic and thats it. Of course any publisher can run havoc at any given time. Will ncsoft/gameforge do something like that with classic? Noone knows, but I don't see how ppl seems to ignore this option. Would that be stupid and kill classic? Yeah likely.ĭid gameforge ever did something like that? Yeah, in atleast 3 different games they publish.ĭid ncsoft ever did something simmilar? Yeah, in atleast 2 different games they developed. It shouldn't take more than few hours to disable/adjust drop of specific items and add them to shop.
